A note about the $ sign. Chile does not have a currency symbol. So they use the $ sign liberally to denote Chilean peso. If you see a $ sign, it’s safe to assume it is not US Dollar but Chilean peso. When they actually mean US Dollar, they write it as U$S or U$D.
